Fisetin is a bioactive flavonol molecule found in fruits and vegetables such as strawberries, apples, persimmons, grapes, onions, and cucumbers. Fisetin is a potent flavonoid that can reduce oxidative stress and senescence. However, only 2–160 μg/g of Fisetin can be obtained from the natural sources of Fisetin.1

Fisetin and senescent cells
We generally think of aging as wrinkles and gray hair, however it’s a lot more complicated than that. How healthy your cells are determines how fast you’re aging. Scientists have discovered that one of the main contributors to the process of aging is the presence of senescent cells - cells that cease to divide.2
One of the main reasons that cause cells to become senescent is oxidative stress. Oxidative stress happens when free radicals (uncharged highly reactive foreign molecules) are formed in your body and bind with healthy cells, denaturing and damaging them.3
Other benefits of fisetin
Apart from arrested growth, senescent cells also secrete pro-inflammatory molecules called cytokines and growth factors. Together these molecules form SASP (senescence-associated secretory phenotype), which cause harmful effects on the body by triggering inflammation of tissues, thus disrupting their normal function.4
Supplementation with Fisetin helps promote cardiovascular health, support healthy cellular function, reduce oxidative stress, promote a healthy inflammatory response, and more.5
AMPK (adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase) is an enzyme that helps balance your cellular energy, meaning it’s crucial for helping you feel energized. Activation of AMPK by Fisetin leads to inhibition of certain mechanisms that cause improvement and regulation of cellular energy production.6
Take the fight against aging to the cellular level with Fisetin!
