    Product Details

    Organic Eucalyptus Essential Oil
There are several varieties of eucalyptus essential oil. The most commonly preferred species are Eucalyptus globulus and Eucalyptus radiata. Eucalyptus radiata is much preferred over Eucalyptus globulus because the fragrance of E.radiata is more pleasant than E.globulus’. However, the active component present in the essential oil of both E.radiata and E.globulus is a terpene 1,8-cineole, also known as eucalyptol, which makes up more than 80% of the essential oil.1

    Inflammation and respiratory tract health
Eucalyptol in the Organic Eucalyptus Essential Oil is found to minimize the inflammatory agents like cytokines and other ones that can cause inflammation in airway diseases. Clinical studies in asthmatic patients reveal that Eucalyptol significantly reduces the dosage of glucocorticosteroids.2 In a study on rats, Eucalyptol was found to manage and minimize cough.3

    Pain and stress
Topical application of ointments with Eucalyptus Oil may be beneficial in reducing pain in athletes.4 Application of eucalyptus oil in combination with peppermint oil can have a relaxing effect on the muscle and improve cognition.5 Eucalyptol was also found to quench the free radicals and regulate superoxide dismutase enzyme, thereby functioning as an efficient antioxidant.2 Eucalyptus oil boosts the immune system by promoting phagocytosis (eating foreign cells and particles).6 Aromatherapy using eucalyptus oil in combination with other essential oils was found to be beneficial in alleviating depression and pain in arthritis patients.7

    Antimicrobial properties
Eucalyptus oil is said to have a strong antimicrobial activity against bacterial and fungal infections.8 Studies reveal that the lowest concentration of eucalyptus oil is sufficient to retard the growth of bacteria and its attachment to the host cells.9 Eucalyptus extract showed a significant effect in reducing microorganisms and plaque in the mouth, thereby maintaining oral health.10

    Safety of eucalyptus essential oil
Organic Eucalyptus Essential Oil is not for ingestion. As this essential oil is rich in eucalyptol, it should always be used under proper dilution in lotions or other carrier oils. It is not safe for use on children and pets.
