Product Details

Resveratrol is a polyphenol most commonly found in red wine and grapes. Other sources include berries, peanuts and soy. However, Resveratrol concentrations from red wine, grapes, and berries are low, they vary widely and are poorly bioavailable. On the other hand, supplementation with Resveratrol increases its bioavailability and provides the required optimum concentrations of this polyphenol.

    Activation of Sirtuins
Sirtuins are a group of proteins that help regulate your cellular health and thus play an important role in aging. When we talk about proteins, we usually think about molecules that we get from food items, however, there are many groups of proteins naturally present inside each and every cell of our body.

One of these groups of proteins are sirtuins, which are responsible for the removal of acetyl group from other proteins. This deacetylation prepares the protein for its required function. However, sirtuins cannot do this job on their own. They require NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) which acts as a cofactor for sirtuins in the process of deacetylation of proteins. NAD+ is an essential coenzyme found in all living cells, required to carry out numerous metabolic reactions. Sirtuins deacetylate proteins that participate in various biological processes involving aging and longevity.2

Now, just as we require adequate nutrition for our activity, these sirtuins need to be activated in order to carry out their function of deacetylation of proteins. Mainly called STACs, Sirtuin-activating Compounds are plant-derived polyphenols that are necessary for the activation of sirtuins. One such famous plant-derived STAC is Resveratrol. Resveratrol enhances the deacetylating activity of sirtuins and upregulates the NAD+ level, eventually leading to reduced aging-related processes and reactions.3,4

Enhanced mitochondrial function and decreased oxidative stress
Mitochondria are known as the powerhouses of the cells. Resveratrol not only activates sirtuins for protein deacetylation, but it also activates proteins that are involved in various mitochondrial function.5

Oxidative stress occurs when free radicals that are generated in the body due to stress, pollution, UV rays, and harmful chemicals bind to your healthy cells, causing them to damage and denature. In fact, Resveratrol also effectively fights these free radicals by binding and neutralizing them, thus effectively leading to decreased oxidative stress.6,7

Insulin sensitivity and healthy LDL cholesterol
Insulin is a hormone of the pancreas that helps the body control sugar-level in the blood. Insulin sensitivity shows how sensitive are your cells to the insulin released. If only a small concentration of insulin is required to control your blood sugar then you are termed as insulin sensitive, however, if high concentration insulin is required to control your blood sugar then you are termed as insulin resistant. Low insulin sensitivity (insulin resistance) can be an indication of various health issues ranging from diabetes to heart problems.

Recently, according to a clinical study published in Journals of Gerontology Series A: Biomedical Sciences and Medical Sciences, Resveratrol, a potent polyphenol, has shown promising effects encouraging healthy insulin sensitivity.8

Oxidation of LDL-Cholesterol happens when free radicals interact with LDL-Cholesterol molecules leading to the formation of complex products that give rise to certain heart problems such as atherosclerosis. Resveratrol suppresses oxidation of LDL-Cholesterol and also helps to maintin healthy levels of LDL-Cholesterol, thus supporting heart health.9,10

Resveratrol helps to promote longevity and youthful gene expression. Activate your longevity genes with Resveratrol!
